Regulations
Introduction
- Cultural association “Quicampiflegrei” and the “Women Association of Campi Flegrei” organize the fifth edition of “A Corto di Donne”, women’s short film festival, which will be held in Pozzuoli (Naples) on 19, 20 and 21 June 2009.
- “A Corto di Donne” supports the creativity of women, offering a place of confrontation to those filmmakers from all over the world who have chosen the language of cinema to express an original point of view on society, feelings and issues of our time.
Requirements
- Only short films directed by women are eligible for the festival.
- Shorts may be dealing with any subject. Accepted genres are: Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Videoart.
- Maximun length allowed is 20 minutes. The festival organizers reserve the right of accepting videos whose running time is slightly longer.
- Shorts must have been completed after January 1st, 2007.
Registration
- Through the official website of the festival – www.acortodidonne.it – it is possible to fill the entry form on line, or to download it and fill it by hand. Further information can be obtained by sending an e-mail to info@acortodidonne.it or by calling the telephone number (+39) 347.6675.785.
- Works must be sent, along with the entry form, to the following address: “A Corto di Donne” – c/o Azienda Autonoma Cura, Soggiorno e Turismo – Piazza Matteotti, 1 – 80078 Pozzuoli (NA) – Italy. Deadline: 31 March 2009.
- All materials sent from outside the European Union must contain the following mention: "SENZA VALORE COMMERCIALE, PER FINI CULTURALI / NO COMMERCIAL VALUE, FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES".
- Registration is free.
- The format required for the pre-selection process is a good quality DVD.
- The organizers will deeply appreciate to receive an extra cd, with film stills, a photo of the director, the dialogue list in English, the synopsis and biofilmography in digital version.
- It is possible to entry more than one film, including each of them on a different DVD.
- All non Italian shorts must be have subtitles in English. The use of English subtitles is highly recommended for Italian short films too.
Awards
- The juries of the festival, composed of professional people of audiovisual industry and from the world of art and culture, will assign the prize for the best short for each category: Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Videoart.
- The festival’s directors will also assign a special award to the best Italian short, to be chosen between all the films selected for the event.
- Jury members and the organizers reserve the right to attribute other awards, such as special mentions, audience prizes and so on.
- The decisions of the juries are undisputable.
Arrangements
- It is left to the organizers the possibility of instituting other sections of the festival, where to screen those interesting shorts that have not been selected for the competition, but which deserve the attention of the audience.
- The Festival’s directors will choose the films to be screened, and this decision is undisputable.
- Videos – even those ones which have not been selected – will become part of the film archive of Cultural Association “Quicampiflegrei” and of the “Women Association of Campi Flegrei”, and could be used for cultural or educational purposes, even after the carrying out of the event, in exchange with other institutions or associations, to promote the festival in Italy and abroad.
- The organising body of the festival will take due care of the copies of the works submitted, but assumes no responsibility for possible damages during transportation or at the Festival venues.
- The author or the producer will be responsible for the content of the work and for the diffusion of materials protected by copyright.
- Any customs duty expenses will not be paid by the festival.
- In case of interpretation problems with this document translated into other languages, the Italian version will stand as proof.
- Participating in the competition implies acceptance of the Regulations. The Festival’s direction reserves the right to decide on unforeseen cases.
